Introduction:

The Rug House are a family run business with over twenty years trading experience throughout the UK and Ireland. The Rug House launched their website in June 2008 although it was re-designed and developed around June 2010.

The Challenge and our Objectives:

The Rug House wanted to obtain more organic traffic from search engines and establish a bigger presence online for rug related search queries. The majority of revenue The Rug House were generating was via sales from eBay and Amazon and a major objective was to ensure organic traffic contributed heavily to overall ecommerce.

The Rug House were obtaining a relatively small amount of traffic from top level category specific keywords and a very small amount of visits from a very small group of long tail keywords. Considering the Rug House stocked over X products and usually had over 10 variables of each product a clear opportunity was to open the site up to benefit from long tail traffic and ultimately conversions.

Results:

Over the course of 6 months the overall site traffic increased by 93%
