You look at a site and have an instinct for what is likely to be technically wrong, you come up with link development strategies in your sleep and think that keyword research is like online anthropology.

Verve Search is a rapidly growing SEO Agency, in fact we are an award winning SEO agency. We all love SEO and take immense pride in not just getting to the top of the rankings but generating the RIGHT traffic for our clients; converting traffic. We are now a 11 people strong team and growing rapidly so we are looking for someone that can grow with us and be a big part of the business.

Verve Search also encourages blogging and twittering as part of the working day and regularly contributes to industry press both on and offline. In the past year Verve Search employees have contributed to several SEO best practise reports and white-papers (including eConsultancy SEO BP report 2011 and B2B Marketing’s SEO BP Guide 2010).
At Verve we are flexible, no ‘2 page application’ for a holiday, or a long email to excuse the fact that you need to visit the dentist. Verve is built on trust and if we hire you, we trust you. In addition to 25 days holiday (excluding bank holidays) you also get your birthday off.
At Verve we believe there should NOT be need for people to work loads of hours overtime, in fact we encourage people to go home on time (and we work half an hour less than most agencies). This is because we believe that creativity and productivity comes from a rested mind, not an overworked and tired brain!
In the 4 years of the agency running no one has ever ASKED for a pay rise or promotion, we believe in giving people pay-rises and promotions when they deserve it, and there is NO rules of how many pay rises you can get in a year. Most people that works and have worked at Verve has had two pay rises per year! Verve is also kind of different when it comes to bonuses, you don’t need to have had to work for us for a year to get a bonus. At Verve everyone is entitled and DO get bonuses, even the year out students.
Job Description & Details
Job Title: Head of SEO
Extras: Company Bonus Scheme + possibility of earning shares in the company
You don’t need a degree but you need to have the following:
- Proof of success in the SERPs (previous work)
– People Management experience
– Min 3 years in Search
– Experience in SEO strategy (including link development and outreach strategies)
– Experience dealing with clients and being involved in pitches and proposals
– Ideally Knowledge in: HTML, WordPress and Excel (don’t underestimate the power of Excel).
– Knowledge in using SEO tools such as: Linkdex/BrightEdge/Serchmetrics, SEOmoz, Screaming Frog and so on
– Excellent communication and organisational skills
+ sense of humour is a MUST.
Management of Team: Day to day management of workload including weekly workload meetings and updates, making sure project timelines is being held by employees.
Client Services: Account management, including liaising and meeting with clients.
New Business: Being involved in proposals and pitch process including attending meetings and speaking engagements on behalf of Verve Search.
SEO Services: All areas of SEO. Keywords and competitor research, Technical, On Page and Off Page Optimisation. Also universal search optimisation including; Google Local, Google Shopping and Video SEO.
Strategy: Develop strategies for clients alongside the CEO
Sharing the Awesomeness: Blogging, twittering and general evangelising the Verve Search gospel.
